Chapter 2 - Welcome to Bridgeport part 2

As Ambrose made his way round Bridgeport looking for work, he couldn't shake the feeling that there was someone watching him.  It started as he got in a taxi just after he left the salon.

The feeling didn't shift when he got to his destination, the grocery store, to see if they had any part time jobs.

As he left the store he had a good look around.

He decided he must have been imaging it and headed for the book store, where he saw a help wanted add in the window.

He went in and asked to speak to the manager, who explained that there was a spa on this first floor and the add was actually for them.  He trudged up the stairs, and spoke to the receptionist, her manager was on her day off today, but if she could pass along his résumé.  Handing it over he hope that he would get a call tomorrow, if not, he may not be able to afford the rent at the end of the week.

Deciding to cheer himself up he headed to the True Modern Art Gallery, he had heard so much about it and being creative himself, he loved to see what other's did with their talent.

He thought he saw a flash of light as he examined one painting.

Deciding enough was enough, he headed towards the nearest subway station.  Remembering to get on the right line for home, although he still felt a little uneasy.

As he exited the subway, he noticed a food van parked down the street and made the spur of the minute decision to grab a burrito, after all, he hadn't checked the refrigerator and doubted that there was anything edible in there.  As he ordered his stomach growled and he realised it was 7pm already and hadn't eaten all day.

Enjoying his burrito, he looked up and almost choked, he saw someone hiding in the bushes across the street with a telefoto lens camera and it was pointed directly at him.

Making a snap decision he decided make a run for his building.

Chapter 1 - Welcome to Bridgeport

The advertisement for the place said nothing about it being on a building site!  This was Ambrose's first thought when he saw the complex in which he had rented an apartment.

With some trepidation he approached the front door to the building, but stopped to inspect the ground-works which he assumed were in place as the start of some refurbishments, and he couldn't deny that the structure looked like it needed it.

Pressing the button for the top floor Ambrose couldn't help but wonder what the actual apartment was going to be like.

Well, at least is has floors and walls... he thought to himself while he toured the place, it didn't take long.  The apartment was constructed in an open plan layout with a small living area, a kitchen area the advert had described as 'bijou', but to Ambrose it was just cramped.  Then through to a decent sized double bedroom.   The bathroom was adequate for Ambrose's needs.

Looking out of the bedroom window, he had an amazing view of the crane, but in the distance was Hollywood Hills, the premier address in the city, one of his reasons for relocating Bridgeport, One day, I will be able to afford to live in the Hills.   But to get there he had to try and get some money together, all he had was $1,000 simoleans in his Bank of Simchester account and he would need more than that if that was his dream.

I look like a hobo, out loud he said "First things first, if I'm going to be job hunting, I need to get a clean change of clothes, and maybe a haircut." Maybe I am going crazy, I'm even talking to myself now.

It had been a long journey for Ambrose, it had started back at his parent's home in Riverview, an idyllic little town.  But nothing had been idyllic for Ambrose growing up.  His life up until his 18th birthday, which was a week ago, had been a confusing time, never knowing if he was going to turn out like his father.  Finally turning 18 and graduating from Dribbledean Sports Academy, he had decided to make a break for it.  He hadn't told his parents where he was going, or even that he was leaving, he had decided the only way for him to make his own way in life was a fresh start, so he'd hitched a series of rides across the country and here he was.

So, off to find a change of clothes.

When he first spied his new residence, Ambrose had noticed a subway located further down the street, so he decided to give it a try.

Checking the map on the side of the station, he figured out where the main shopping area was located and braved the underground.  With this being his first time in the big city, he had never used this method of travel before, most places were within walking distance back in Riverview.  Worried about the stories he had heard back home of people being mugged on the subway, or not being able to navigate the different lines, he was pleasantly surprised to find that all the routes were clearly signposted, and he exited the vestibule at the other end of his journey delighted that he had managed the journey without any problems.

To his relief the main shopping district appeared in front of him and he ambled over to what looked to be a reasonably priced store.  On entering however, he feared that the cost of having one of the stylists employed to assist shoppers would be prohibitively expensive, he braved styling process on his own.

It was similar to how he had shopped back home, the styling station scanned his body and his measurements were all loaded into the system, his avatar then appeared in front of him and he was able to pick the items he desired.  Amazed, he found a Dribbledean Academy T-Shirt and purchased it immediately, it helped remind if him of his team back at school and if he was entirely honest, he was a little homesick already.  He also decided to try a new hair style out on his avatar...

Pleased with the results of his little spree, he threw a pose.

The makeover had cost him $200 simoleans, not too bad and he felt happier about spending the afternoon roaming the city trying to find a job.
